RYA Powerboat Level Two Course

This RYA Powerboat Level Two course is great for beginners. You’ll be instructed by our professional team in both practical, water-based training as well as some classroom training where we’ll cover areas such as mooring and basic navigation. It focuses on low speed close quarters handling, man overboard recovery, an introduction to driving at planing speed, and collision regulations.

What will you learn?

During the two-day course you will learn the following skills:

  • Launch and recovery
  • Boat handling
  • Securing to a buoy
  • Leaving and coming alongside
  • Anchoring
  • Close quarter handling
  • High speed manoeuvres
  • Various Man overboard recovery techniques

Course requirements & outcomes

This course is designed for beginners and children aged 12 or over, no assumed knowledge. The course may be preceded by the RYA Level One Start Powerboating Course.

After the course you will be a self-sufficient powerboater in the right conditions, aware of own limitations and those of other craft.

Additional information

There will be a maximum of 3 students per vessel on this course. This is designed to give you as much time as possible driving the boat and personalised course experience.
